I like the Big Band music from the 40's & 50's. Also appreciate classical. Don't care much for Country Western except a few. No rock & roll for me!

I grew up reading Nancy Drew Mysteries, graduated to Perry Mason mysteries. Have a bunch of Romance novels that I haven't gotten around to read yet. Bought them while I worked and had money to pay for them, thinking I would have reading material when I retired. Too busy traveling now to do much reading other than the Sunday paper.

When I was a kid, I went to see "Meet Me In St. Louis" about 4 times. Also saw "Gone With The Wind" several times. As a young adult I went to see "Sound of Music" at least 4 times and have even been in the stage play of that one. I liked "War & Rememberance" and "The Winds of War". "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a good one. I would have to rack my brain to think back to all the ones that I really liked, there were lots. Todays movies leave something to be desired. My step-daughter owns the theater where I live and I get to go see all the previews each week, so I've seen more movies in the last 5 years than I had in the last 40 years. Oh, yes, another current-like one I thought was good was "Saving Private Ryan". I like anything with Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks.

My current favorite TV shows are "Survivor", "Boston Legal", "Lost" & "Desperate Housewives". Also "Brothers & Sisters". I really enjoyed the "Dancing With The Stars" series too. But my long time passion has been "General Hospital". Been watching that one since 1967. And since retirement I have added "All My Children" and "One Life to Live".

I've enjoyed every place I've been. Would be hard to pick a favorite. Places I always wanted to see and have...Machu Picchu, Taj Mahal, Abul Simbal, Petra, Great Pyramids, Tahiti, Ireland, Great Wall of China and so many more.

I have been traveling for the past 17 years a lot. There's always somewhere else I want to go. I've been on several cruises, the longest was in 2005 on a 2 month cruise of Asia & the South Pacific. I went to Africa in 2006 for 32 days. In 2007 I was gone on my longest trip, 72 days, combining 3 tours--Turkey, Greece, Romania and a river cruise up the Danube, Main, & Rhine through Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium. In 2008 I went to India and Vietnam for 32 days. I like the longer trips. Figure if I have to pay the air fare and sit in a plane to go half way around the world, I might as well see as much as I can. I've been to Euroe three times prior to the river cruise, for a total of about 125 days. Two weeks in Peru, 10 days in Israel, 30 days in China, 30 in Australia/New Zealand. Almost 3 weeks in Thailand & Cambodia. Been through the Panama Canal and too lots of the Islands around the world. I love to work crossword puzzles. Especially fond of the one in The Dallas Morning News. That's the one I learned on way back in the 60's. When I had a dance partner, I loved to go dancing. I like to have friends over for dinner as I love to cook and entertain.

I wish my health and finances permitted me to keep traveling. There are still so many places I'd like to see. I wish that people could all get along and not force their beliefs on others. Live and let live.

Real Estate courses., Over the years I have belonged to various clubs but since I moved to a new town 3 years ago, I confine my activities to church. We have several Senior Adult activities like a monthly pot-luck dinner. We have weekly dinners that I help serve once a month. There is a group called "The Lunch Bunch" that go out of town to eat once a month. Sometimes I go with them. I've been on a couple of mission trips. Last year I started having a lunch once a month for the widows in my Sunday school class. There are about 15 of us and I've had from 6 to 11 come and enjoy a meal at my house.
